Boom's Menu Bar App
Boom's menu bar app lives in the menu bar at the top of your screen and is always running in the background. You can use the menu bar app to quickly turn your camera on or off, mute or unmute your mic, hide the Boom Remote, open Boom Studio, quit Boom completely, and access the Boom Mirror.
Boom will automatically connect to your calls as long as it is in your menu bar and you've selected Boom as your camera in your video conferencing app.
If Boom is not connected to a call, the menu bar app will be grey:
If Boom is connected to a call, the menu bar will be green and you will see the camera and mic icons:
☝🏾 Pro Tip: use Boom's shortcuts to control your camera and mic
- Cam on/ Cam off mode: Option (⌥) + Command (⌘) + O
- Mute/Unmute Mic: Option (⌥) + Command (⌘) + X
💡 Note: If you use any of the new MacBooks that come with a notch and you have a lot of items in your menu bar, you may not be able to see Boom’s menu bar icon. Its probably because Boom is being hidden somewhere behind the notch. We suggest that you close out some of the the items in your menu bar (you can reopen them after but they may become hidden as well) until you see Boom's icon , then cmd+click on the icon and drag it all the way to the right. This way it will always be visible.
